Meet Dr. Alligood
Dr. Alligood graduated from Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry (now VCU School of Dentistry) in 1994. She attended the UCONN Pediatric dental residency program and completed a one-year fellowship.
As a child, Dr. Alligood lived in many places, including Italy, because of her father’s career in the USAF. Virginia was home for most of her school years but choosing to locate her business in Farmington was an excellent opportunity.
Dr. Alligood lives in Simsbury with her husband. She has a daughter and a son and three cats. She enjoys crocheting, singing with her church choir, and gardening. Adding to her collection of Converse and searching for the perfect curly hair products are also favorite things to do.

Grace
Grace is a certified Dental Assistant, began working with Dr. Alligood in 2007. She graduated Briarwood College with a certificate in dental assisting. Grace has worn many different hats as a dental assistant, working for an endodontist and general practices, but has found her calling working with children. Her warm laugh and sense of humor creates an inviting environment for our patients and parents.
Grace has two daughters, a grandson and granddaughter, and loves to paint, garden, cook, and hike.
JoAnne
JoAnne has been a part of the team since 2000, when she began working as a Certified Dental Assistant with Dr. Alligood. In 2004, after completing her dental hygiene degree at Tunxis Community College, she began working as a Registered Dental Hygienist. She earned her master’s degree in public health from New York Medical College in 2016. She is an adjunct professor at Goodwin University, teaching courses in Public Health and Clinical Dental Hygiene Instruction. Once fearful of the dentist, JoAnne understands the anxiety of the dental visit and goes above and beyond to make her patients comfortable and at ease.
JoAnne has a daughter and enjoys the Boston Bruins, going to concerts and playing bass guitar.
Karen
Karen began her dental career as an assistant for a general dentist. In 1995, she was hired by Dental Associates as a receptionist for Dr. William O’Meara, Dr. Alligood’s predecessor. She is an integral part of our team, providing her expertise on the administrative side of the practice. Karen has a son and a daughter, and enjoys her two dogs, loves the beach, and vacationing.
